New Yarns from Rico

Hello everyone!

I would like to show you some yarns that have just arrived from Rico in Germany. Rico is more well known in Britain for embroidery goods but in Europe they are massive in embroidery and knitting yarn.

To whet your whistle we have chosen just a few yarns but we think we have chosen well.

Rico Baby Classic

This is the Rico Baby Classic and it is yummy soft.

It has 165m in a 50g ball. The recommended needle size is 3.5mm - 4mm with a tension of 22 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm.

It is a mixture of 50% acrylic and 50% polyamide.

Baby Classic costs £2.10/50g. The colours in stock are tradtional baby colours: cream, pink and red. Red? Actually we ordered blue. Lost in translation?

Next up is Rico Baby Lolly-pop. Check out this funky baby yarn ....

Rico Lollipop 2

Lolly-pop has 100m in a 50g skein. The recommended needle size is 4mm with a tension of 22 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm.

It is a mixture of 50% viscose and 50% acrylic.

Lolly-pop costs £2.10/50g and in stock we have three colourways: pinky, bluey and multi.

Website

I suppose you must be wondering why there isn't a Stitching Time website yet.

Well, there is one lurking in the ether - it just isn't populated yet. Every time we go to start working on it in earnest, something happens and that wee (ha-ha)job gets pushed to the side - again!.

However, I am putting it in writing and telling the world that we have extracted the digit.

Today, the technophobes were mucking about with the software.

There you are ... we have begun our uphill struggle. My head is full of meta tags and jpegs and all manner of software jargon and I have come to realise that I can't remember a blessed thing that I was taught on that wee course cough cough years ago. Oops, sorry, months ago.

So, we have been making up wee shops selling things that we have pictures of on my computer like a felted hot water bottle cover that went wrong and my swollen foot (but it is available in three diffent sizes and four different colours).

Oh, what a laugh we had. Not!

So, now we have to get on with it. Feel free to pester us with any amount of abuse if you don't see anything appearing anytime soon. Just remember, we are not fourteen anymore and it might take us that wee bit longer than your average techno-savvy teenager.

What was that? Sorry, the boss was just shouting that he now has RSI and I'll have to make him coffee. Is this a sign of things to come????

We have been waiting patiently for our new yarns to arrive and some of them are here!

Nan is already in a quandry over which yarn to get stuck into first and ths is just part of this order!

So what are you going to go for first?

What about ...

Now, if that isn't enough to get you excited, what about Lana Inca?

Noro Cash Iroha Scarf/Shawl

The colour in the last two posts wasn't very good because I had to reduce the file sizes so that I could upload them. So ... here is the picture of me posing like a haddie with my Cash Iroha scarf/shawl. (The pattern is 'scarf' but because I used the Cash Iroha it is more of a shawl.) And .. I only used 2 balls!

DSCF1170

The Cash Iroha normally retails at £7.95/50g but we are selling it at £4.25.

It is 40% silk, 30% lamb's wool, 20% cashmere and 10% nylon with 113m in a 50g ball.
