Needles

In case you were wondering ...

we do carry a good range of needles - metal, plastic, bamboo. Dpns, circular, straight. And in all different lengths and sizes.

We have just had a delivery today of sock needles and circulars from Lang. Although they are in Lang packaging, they are actually manufactured by Addi and have the Addi markings on them. Funnily enough though, they are cheaper than Addis. lol

So if you fancy Addi turbos but think they are expensive, we have them, only cheaper.

Escapade

So what about cheating with wool then? Check this out ...

Escapade

The different colours knit different patterns and the same colour will have different effects depending on the pattern and the number of stitches etc.

Escapade beanie hat

Escapade is an Elle yarn. It is a double knitting and comes in 100g balls with 300m. Recommended needles are 3.25mm - 4mm with a tension of 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm. It costs £2.99.

The colours are great as you can see and this yarn is becoming more and more popular. As I said in the April newsletter below, it is great for novice knitters who can get a bit of fancy colourwork going with out the worry of tension and not twisting yarn and getting holes. It is also great for experienced knitters who can get the fancy patterning going when they just want to chill and take it easy for a change. Who is going to be checking out the insides to see what you've been up to? (Someone who needs to get a life, that's who!!) Meanwhile you can take all sorts of credit for whatever technique you want to claim. lol

Leola

I thought I'd let you see the Leola yarn mentioned in the April newsletter below.

Leola

It is from a Rowan company called Gedifra and the yarn is Leola. It comes in a 50g ball with 125m. The recommended needle size is 4.5mm - 5mm with a tension of 19 stitches and 28 rows to 10cm. It costs £5.50

I am knitting with the colourway on the left just now and I think it is lovely. It has a real touch of class about it and I think it will drape nicely when it is being worn. I have only the bands and the sleeves to do and it will be ready. (The stitches for the cap sleeves are picked up from the body and knitted down.) I have chosen some shell buttons to go with it.

Here's hoping the summer is going to be good enough to let me wear it!!! I will publish a photo when it is done and you can see what you think.
